New Logo

I am working on designing a new logo to represent my business. Please help me out by looking through these ideas and leaving comments and suggestions. The more specific information you can offer, the more helpful it will be to me. Does the logo remind you of anything? What words would you use to describe it? I generally think of my photography style as being contemporary, creative, and a little edgy, so I am looking for a logo that will help portray that. The logo will have to look good in a variety of sizes, as I plan to use it on business cards, letterhead, etc. Please ignore the awkward size and shape of the white areas, they are not part of the design.

1.) This first one is the closest to the idea I had in mind and was designing with a pen and paper, and I still like it.

2.) I am quite fond of this one. I think it looks fun and contemporary, while being sleek and clean enough to look professional.

3.) I liked this one at first because the idea of using the entire word "photography" instead of "photo" appealed to me, but the more I look at it, the more crowded it seems. I don't think it will win because it will be cramped when it is printed quite small.

4.) Again, I like this one at first but am liking it less now. The 2 isn't dark enough to be noticeable when printed small, and the word "photo" is floating in a funny way. I am a big fan of the font, though.

Please feel free to make suggestions if nothing here is getting across what I am trying to convey. Thanks for your time and help!
I just added this bottom one based on a suggestion to extend the E in order to fit the whole word "photography" in. I like it. Any opinions?

Or this one, with a bigger H.

Ski Weekend in Vail

On Saturday, we had friends visiting from out of town, and I got a chance to learn to ski. I know, I'm a Vermonter. I live in Colorado. Why haven't I skied before? All I can say is, real Vermonters don't really ski. But I'm going to learn. So far, it's a lot like ice skating, only scarier and more difficult.

Photo Of The Day

I think construction vehicles look like strange alien creatures, with their long arms and conveyer belt feet. They also seem to defy gravity, with their ability to drive up steep mounds of dirt and hang out on top like king of the hill.

The photo of the day is back

During the last few weeks I've been bad about keeping up with my photo of the day, but I am trying to get back into it. Here is today's installment. The Boulder courthouse looks like Gotham city all lit up.

December in Vermont

When I was home in Vermont over the holidays, my family and I went for a walk through town on a snowy afternoon. These photos record some details of our hometown.
